Spending abroad
0% to 1% by tier
Good
- Non-custodial: user keys, Kamino Finance smart contracts, XPlace cannot access funds
- Earn variable yield on collateral via Kamino while spending (x.place listed SOL 6.15% and USDT 3.26% APY on 28 Sep 2026)
- No sell event / taxable event in Credit Mode: borrow against crypto, not sell
Watch out
- US program exists but 19 states are excluded from issuance (and the T&Cs separately list NY/TX as restricted)
- Cash Mode (spending your own USDC) pays no cash back, only XP points, which the terms say have no cash value
- USDC cash back (0.5% to 2% by tier) is paid only in Credit Mode, which means borrowing against crypto collateral at a variable Kamino rate
